Ladies Who Lead acknowledges the land in which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee peoples. Brantford-Brant is situated within the Haldimand Tract, which includes six miles on each side from the mouth to the source of the Grand River as set out in the Haldimand Treaty of 1874.

The Haudenosaunee people follow a traditional matriarchal structure, each clan is linked by a common female ancestor with women possessing a leadership role within the clan. It is important to acknowledge this structure as we meet on traditional territory and as we work to uplift women in our community.
