On a crisp April afternoon in 2024, excitement filled the air as Ladies Who Lead members gathered at Mercasa Little Italy Eatery & Catering to kick off an event like no other—The Ladies Who Lead Amazing Race! Designed to challenge, connect, and celebrate the incredible businesses in our community, this high-energy treasure hunt took participants on an unforgettable journey through Brantford.
The Race Begins
With their first clue in hand, teams dashed from Mercasa to their first stop, eager to uncover the next piece of the puzzle. The challenge? Solve a riddle, find the next destination, and collect a letter along the way. At each stop, local businesses provided not only the next clue but also a warm welcome, showcasing their incredible services and products.
The Stops Along the Way
The adventure led teams to five fantastic businesses that played an essential role in making the race a success:
• Dragonfly Landscape Supply – A hidden gem that had racers digging deep (literally!) for their next clue.
• Whole Body Health – A stop that encouraged wellness and balance as teams searched for their letter.
• Maria’s Original – A delicious detour where racers got a taste of something special while solving their next puzzle.
• Bare Ur Beauty – A stunning location that had teams embracing self-care and discovering their next destination.
• Impact Home Staging – A stylish finale before heading back to the finish line!
The Final Stretch & Celebration
As teams collected all their letters and raced back to Mercasa, the real challenge began—deciphering the mystery word! The first team to DM us the correct answer took home the win, but every participant was a champion for embracing the adventure and supporting local businesses.
The event wrapped up with a well-earned celebration, where everyone enjoyed a refreshing Vodka Friday beverage, courtesy of our generous sponsor. Laughter, stories, and cheers filled the room as members reflected on the fun, friendships, and community connections built along the way.
A Huge Thank You!
A massive thank you to Mercasa Little Italy Eatery & Catering for hosting our start and finish line, to our incredible participating businesses for making this event possible, and to Vodka Friday for keeping spirits high! The Ladies Who Lead Amazing Race was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of Brantford’s vibrant community, its incredible female leaders, and the power of local support.
